Train to last longer

Lasting is a skill, not a gift you were handed or denied.

Key takeaways

  • Breathe low and slow instead of holding your breath
  • Stop the motion for ten seconds before the edge
  • Ask her out loud what pace she wants

TL;DR

Lasting is a skill, not a gift you were handed or denied. You practice it with breath, pace, and attention, the same way you practice anything else you want to be good at.

Practice the parts you control

Most men never train it. They hope, they rush, they finish, and then they lie there running a private scorecard nobody asked to see.

Slow the body down

Fast breathing, locked jaw, held breath, full speed from the first minute. That is a man sprinting toward the end he says he does not want. Breathe out long. Loosen your shoulders. Move slower than feels necessary. When you get close, stop moving and stay close to her. Ten seconds of stillness buys you minutes. The pause is part of it, not a failure in it. Do that three or four times in a night and you have doubled what you thought your ceiling was.

Keep your attention on her

Stamina collapses when you go inward. You start monitoring yourself, timing yourself, bracing for the verdict, and now there are two of you in your head and neither one is with her. Come back out. Her breath. Her hands. What she just did with her hips that she did not do a minute ago. Ask her, plainly, in words. Pleasure is information and she has most of it. Chasing her response gives your body something to do besides count.

Stop rating your performance

One rough night is not a diagnosis. Grade the practice, not the outcome. Did you breathe. Did you slow down. Did you stay with her instead of disappearing into your own head. Do that repeatedly and the rest follows. Anxiety about lasting is the fastest way to not last, and the cure is boring repetition and honest talk, not a better strategy.

Today

Tonight or the next time you are together, stop all movement for a slow ten count before you get close, and use the pause to touch her.

Go deeper

Performance is a rigged court. You perform, you get a verdict, you perform again for a better one, and the case never closes. That is exhausting in bed and everywhere else. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1) The verdict came first, and it did not come from your effort. A man who is not auditioning can actually be present, which is the whole skill.

Remember Yesterday

Leave after the last one. The moment you hit your number tonight, stand up and physically leave the spot where you're sitting.

Remember Lasterday

Stop reopening the decision. When someone questions the call today, give your reason once and then change the subject.

Keep exploring

Come back at the slower pace. Tonight, after your first pause, restart at half the speed and hold it for a full two minutes before anything changes.
